It was busy all day today, even while I was packing up, people were still purchasing prints and greeting cards. Over sixty greeting cards went today!
A lady bought a “Hanging Out” print for her sister, who has just turned 60 and is moving to a new job. She’s going to be a principal of a school in Victoria. She loves wombats and her sister is sure that she’ll have this one hanging up in her new office. Who knows, it may calm the naughty children sent to the principal’s office! (lol)
Two sisters visited the stall, both from Scotland, one still living in Scotland and the other living in Adelaide. “Hanging Out” and “Who, Who, Who are You? II” are travelling to Scotland and “Flying School” is staying in Australia. A couple from the town of Hertfordshire, UK, are taking home with them an “Afternoon Siesta” print.
A mother purchased a medium sized “Salamanca Fresh” tote bag to post to Amsterdam. Her son and girlfriend visited Tasmania in July 2019 and just loved it, so she is going to post this as a souvenir of their memorable time here.
A Perth couple, who have lots of empty walls in their house they told me, purchased “Family Outing”, “Who Says Emus Can’t Fly!?” and “Glamour Girls”. A couple from Newcastle, bought an A-3 size print of “Hair Accessories” to go with their big Yellow-tailed cockatoo print that they have hanging at the end of their hallway that you see as soon as you step through the front door. They also got an A-3 sized print of “Afternoon Siesta”. They were very impressed with “The Wall in the Wilderness” (amazing wood carvings) at Derwent Bridge, Tasmania and were planning on checking out MONA this afternoon.
A couple from Jervis Bay, NSW bought the original “Sleepy time” painting. A man bought the original painting titled “Ring”, and a lady, staying in accommodation above the Drunken Sailor Restaurant on Hunter Street, bought my urban sketch of MACq 01 Hunter Street scene, also an original painting.
A young boy from Brisbane, bought “The Bun” with his own money (I gave him a discount) and a couple from Switzerland bought an A-3 sized “Afternoon Siesta”.
I’m off to Canada tomorrow. I’m visiting a close family member, who is unwell. I’ll be back at Salamanca Market October 19th.
