Hello everybody,
I hope that you are having a well-balanced day.
For Day 14 (prompt word: Toy) and Day 20 (prompt word: Round) of the Wombatober Challenge, I painted this. I don’t have a title for it yet.
Maybe this little fellow has big dreams of joining the circus???
Wishing you a great week.
Cheers, from Patricia (PJ) Hopwood-Wade

P.S. This painting will be available for purchase at Salamanca Market, Tasmania.
There’s no other way to describe today other than wet. My feet started squelching in my shoes at around noon.
My first customers of the day were visiting from Brisbane, Queensland. They purchased some A-5 sized wombat themed prints.
My next customers were a lovely couple from Newcastle, NSW. They’ll be returning home with a Sea Life print and the original painting, titled, “Swinging Wombat” is going to its forever home.
A couple visiting from Sydney, NSW, purchased “Silent Disco” and “Bunk Beds”. They were so happy to find my art because their son and daughter-in-law live in USA and send them quirky art from the US. They said that they were having trouble finding quirky art to reciprocate with.
A young lady, from Sydney, travelling with girlfriends, bought a “Garden Roses” and “Scarlet Robins” print. Another group of ladies were travelling together from Perth. One bought three “Bunk Beds” prints and a “The Three Amigos II” print. She gave her two girlfriends a “Bunk Beds” print each. They were quite moved by her gesture, which was met by hugs and thank-you’s.
A couple from Boston, USA, purchased “Meet Me at the Gate” and “Enchanted Forest II”. They asked if they could have a photo with the artist.
A lady from Brazil, with the help of a friend, settled on an A-3 sized print of “Dinner for Five???” She thought my story that they may have to share an ant funny. She plans to hang it in her bathroom with the pen drawing of the Sydney Opera House that is already adorning one wall in her bathroom.
A couple wanted a souvenir to take back to their home in Namibia https://www.dfat.gov.au/geo/namibia . They settled on a “Salamanca Saturdays” print.
A young French couple stopped by. They’re visiting Australia for six weeks. He is an electrician, and she does bar work in France. They purchased an “Iconic Aussies” and “Suspended” print.
A couple from Gisborne, Victoria, https://www.aussietowns.com.au/town/gisborne-vic purchased an original painting, titled “Swing High” for their first grandchild.

For Day 13 of the Wombatober Challenge’s prompt word “Dress Up”, I painted a wombat dressed up in her best dress for her first birthday.
I hope you’re having a good week whether it involves dressing up or not.
Cheers, from PJ Paintings
I drew this for Day 11 of the Wombatober Challenge’s prompt word “mesmerising”.

Wishing you a mesmerising day.

Hello everybody,
I’m falling behind with the posting for October’s two drawing challenges. I finished this painting for Day #4 on day 5. This is my drawing for the prompt word “spinning” for day four of the Wombatober Challenge.
The original painting is available at https://pjpaintings.com/collections/original-paintings/products/going-for-a-spin-an-original-watercolour-painting
I hope that this week isn’t sending you spinning around in circles.
Cheers, Patricia (PJ)
Hello everybody,
I hope that your Wednesday is travelling well.
Back to the Wombatober Challenge. I’m zig-zagging from the Inktober to the Wombatober Challenge. Day 3’s prompt word for the Wombatober Challenge is “Cosy Place”.
This little fellow is feeling sleepy and cosy under its wombat quilt.
I hope you are feeling cosy too!
Cheers, from Patricia (PJ) Hopwood-Wade
I’m doing the Inktober Challenge and then came upon Wombatober, which runs along the same line as Inktober. They’ve released a prompt list to do a drawing a day for the month of October. Doing two drawings a day is a bit much but I’m trying to do as many of the prompt words that I can.
Wombatober’s Day 1 prompt word is “adventure”. Here’s my adventurous wombat.
Wombatober’s Day 2 prompt word was “shining”. This little wombat’s face is glowing from the shining light of glow worms.
I hope you are enjoying your week.
Thank you for visiting.
Cheers, Patricia (PJ) Hopwood-Wade
Salamanca Market, August 27, 2022
I felt like a lonely, little island with both my Salamanca Market neighbour stall holders, on either side, missing, one due to sickness, the other was at AgFest https://www.agfest.com.au/
My first customer of the day was somebody from the Gold Coast, who bought a “Me at the Gate” print. She told me that fairy wrens often visit her garden.
Parents of 7-month-old Eleanor, visiting from Melbourne, purchased prints for Eleanor’s bedroom. Her parents bought “Spiky Bunk Beds” and her grandmother bought her “Dinner for Five???”.
A young couple from Melbourne bought a small urban sketch I did of one of Arthur Circus’ historical cottages and a few greeting cards.
A lady from Perth, WA purchased “House Sharing”. She really liked the wombat’s feet.
A local bought “Enchanted Forest I” and “Enchanted Forest II” for one of her daughters in London, UK. The older daughter got married a few months ago and while the younger daughter went over to attend the wedding, she secured work and now she has both daughters living on the other side of the earth.
Another local bought a “Sitting on the Fence” print for her daughter because her house has a lot of blue in it. Her daughter is marrying a Canadian. The wedding is taking place in Los Angeles, in two months (they had to postpone it because of COVID) and they will be living in Toronto, Canada.
A family visiting from Durban, South Africa purchased “Meet Me at the Gate” and “Glamour Girls”. The mother was originally from Tasmania, but they are now living in South Africa.
A couple purchased “Devilish Siesta”, “Spiky Bunk Beds” and “Afternoon Siesta” for their child’s bedroom. They have been renting a house in New Town, Tasmania while their house in Sydney is being renovated.
The day passed quickly and soon it was all finished. All good things must come to an end.

I enjoy unexpected friendly encounters. With Hobart being such a small capital city of approximately 250,000, this is a fairly common occurrence when you are out and about.
I’ve painted two watercolour paintings of some friendly Tasmanian encounters:
Wishing you a week full of friendly encounters.
